We asked what you’d like us to blog about and had some eclectic replies! So this blog is dedicated to answering some of your questions. Lots of it is around the practical stuff of organising a huge event like Golowan. Top tips:·
Golowan is introducing a Disabled Viewing area for the parades and this will be on Market Jew Street near the entrance to Wharfside Shopping Centre.
· Car parking is available at St Clare (the former Cornwall Council site) and at Penwith College (from 8am-9pm) as well as all other town car parks with the exception of Greenmarket and St Anthony’s. St Clare and Penwith College car parking is free.
· Portable toilets are available on Mazey Day in the Festival Square – Greenmarket Car Park; outside St John’s Hall in Jennings Street; Morrab Gardens and by Poundstretchers – just off Market Jew Street. On Quay Fair Day toilets are available on the South Quay and near Pz Gallery.
· St John’s Ambulance crews will be available in the harbour area on Mazey Day and also Market Jew Street near Dominos Pizza, at the top of Morrab Road and on Quay Fair Day in the harbour area.
The Festival team, including the crew, security and volunteers can be identified by their hi-viz jackets, Golowan volunteer t-shirts and I.D. tags.
Advice will also be available at the Golowan pop-up shop – on the terrace near the Humphry Davy Statue on Market Jew Street.
Meanwhile back in Golowan HQ we’ve been discussing the weather. Will it be hot? Wet? We get what we get on the weather front but will keep you posted once we get an idea of the forecast for the main weekend. Fingers crossed!
