Golowan Festival 2015
“Alive at 25! Celebrating Golowan – a great history and a glorious future!”
2015 saw the celebration of the 25th Golowan Festival since the tradition was revived in 1991. During the festival we learned of Golowan’s history, were reminded of some of the festivals which had taken place since 1991 and shared people’s ‘best memories of Golowan’.
‘I remember marching down Market Jew Street when I was in Mousehole primary school! Prancing around in my granny’s purple nightie, green face paint and an orange wig, it was amazing! I am guessing it would have been in about 1997, I was born in 91 and would have been about 6.’
Local schools and groups paraded enthusiastically through the town showing off their wonderfully themed procession pieces. We saw an amazing 25th birthday cake, tin miners and much more!
